From April 1 to April 4, 2015, Deputy Chinese Consul General to San Francisco Zha Liyou paid an acquaintance visit to the State of Oregon. During his visit, he delivered a keynote speech at the 5^th Oregon-China Economic Forum on China-US climate change cooperation, met in various occasions with state legislators including Senate President Peter Courtney and House Speaker Tina Kotek, representatives from Association of Oregon Counties and League of Oregon Cities as well as commissioners and business leaders from Metropolitan Portland area, Hood River County and Sherman County.

During his visit, Mr. Zha elaborated the "New Normal" of Chinese economy and major efforts like the building of the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road as well as Pilot Free Trade Zones in China and promised that the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco will try its best in assisting all Oregonians in their friendly exchanges with China.

Those present at the programs thanked Mr. Zha for his insight in China-Oregon relations and expressed their desire to work with the Chinese side in the building of a new model of major-country relations.
