On September 4, the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco hosted the “Taste of China” event. Zheng Xin, wife of the Consul General, joined nearly 40 members of the League of San Francisco Consular Corps (LSFCC) and female diplomats from various countries for a convivial gathering featuring a hands-on dumpling-making experience.

In her remarks, Zheng introduced the richness of Chinese culinary culture and the Chinese wisdom and traditional values embodied in it. She expressed hope that the guests would savor the flavor of diversity, reunion and harmony through the experience. She then demonstrated making dumplings in a warm and cordial atmosphere. The guests eagerly tried their hand at making dumplings themselves.

During the event, the kick-off ceremony for the LSFCC’s annual program was also held. The guests spoke highly of the role of Chinese cuisine as a bridge in fostering friendship between different cultures.
