2006-11-02 00:00

On November 2, 2006, Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei met with President of Canada-China Business Council (CCBC) Sergio Marchi.

He said during President Hu Jintao's visit to Canada last September, both sides agreed to lift the China-Canada relationship to a strategic partnership, pushing the relations to a new level. Currently the economic and trade relations have been developing rapidly. Both sides should tap potentials to the full and advance the trade ties to realize mutual benefits. He hoped CCBC will play a positive role in promoting bilateral ties.

Marchi said China's rapid economic growth offers a precious opportunity for the cooperation and both sides have huge potentials in resources, services and other areas. CCBC will as always serve as a bridge between the governments and business communities of the two countries and make more contributions to the development of strategic partnership.
