On August 16, Consul General Zhang Jianmin attended the Yellow River Cantata concert by Symphony San Jose. The event brought together overseas Chinese and people from various sectors to jointly commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

In his remarks, Consul General Zhang emphasized that the Yellow River Cantata was born at the most challenging time of China’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and fully demonstrated the great national spirit of the Chinese people—courageous, unyielding, and united as one. This event shows the shared pursuit and conviction of overseas Chinese to remember history and cherish peace.
The Chinese and American people used to fight shoulder to shoulder, writing a heroic chapter in the fight for peace and justice. Let us work together to make new contribution to advancing the well-being of our two peoples, to safeguarding world peace and stability, and to building a better future.

At the concert, Symphony San Jose performed together with choir groups from the Chinese community in the San Francisco Bay Area, striking a deep chord with an audience of over 2,000 people.
