2013-07-20 02:45

In the wake of the Asiana jet crash, the Chinese Consulate-General in San Francisco has been urging the U.S. side to conduct a full and impartial investigation into the death of the Chinese girl Ye Mengyuan, and release the findings as soon as possible. Today, the U.S. side disclosed the results of Mengyuan's autopsy. We are saddened to learn that Mengyuan "died of multiple blunt injuries that are consistent with being run over by a motor vehicle". We, once again, offer our deepest condolences for her tragic death.

We have noted the efforts made by the U.S. side to look into Mengyuan's death and disclose the truth. We urge the involved parties of the U.S. side to deal properly with the aftermath of Mengyuan's death and investigate and affix responsibility for this tragic accident. The Chinese consulate will continue to provide assistance for the families of the decedents for their legitimate rights and interests.
