2012-11-01 07:53

On October 31, 2012, Chinese Consul General Gao Zhansheng was hosted by Rotary Berkeley Club at its luncheon and delivered his key-note speech on notable changes in China and China-U.S. Relationship.

Consul General Gao started by reviewing the friendship-building activities between Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco and Rotary Berkeley Club during the past 4 years or so, and went on to elaborate on the notable changes taking place in China for the last decade and shared his views on how to look at the current economic situation of China.

He also reviewed the development of China-US relationship for the past four decades and then narrowed it down to China-California mutually beneficial cooperation.

Consul General Gao's Speech was met with positive response from the audience.

Around 100 Club members attended the event.

It is the first time for Consul General Gao to speak at a District Rotary club, after more than four years of friendship building and cultural exchange activities that followed Rotary Berkeley's first meeting with him at the Consulate in San Francisco in June 2008.

Rotary Berkeley Club spearheaded the efforts in providing $40,000 in aid for China's Wenchuan earthquake victims four years ago.
