Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Meets with Dragan Momcilovic, New Ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro to China

On April 12, 2004, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with Dragan Momcilovic, new Ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro to China, expressing a warm welcome to his taking office in China.

     

Momcilovic said Serbia and Montenegro would like to further boost bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, military and tourism fields on the basis of the good political relations. He stressed that the government of Serbia and Montenegro had just released a statement recently, stating clearly its opposition to any attempt to change the status of Taiwan as a province of China. The government of Serbia and Montenegro adheres to the one-China policy and this position will never change.

      

Foreign Minister Li made positive comments on the development of bilateral relations, expressing gratitude to the government of Serbia and Montenegro for its precious support for China on the Taiwan issue.

       

The two sides also exchanged views on other issues, among other things, the issue of Kosovo.
