Hu Jintao Sends Message over Moscow Metro Terrorist Suicide Bombing to Putin

On February 7th 2004, on behalf of the Chinese government and people and in his own name, Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin to express profound condolences to the victims and deep sympathy to Putin and through him, to the Russian people, families of the deceased and those wounded in the suicide bombing.

 

Hu Jintao reiterated China's opposition to all forms of terrorism, which he said is a serious threat to global peace and security, and reaffirmed support for Russia's fight against terrorism and willingness to join the international community's efforts to eliminate the evil.

 

Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing also sent a message of condolence to his Russian counterpart Igor Ivanov.
