Chinese Consulate in San Francisco held a reception on Sep 5th, to welcome the Director of Taiwan Affairs Office at State Council, Zhang Zhijun's visit to San Francisco.

After becoming the director of Taiwan Affairs Office in March 2013, it was the 1st time that Zhang Zhijun visited the United States. "San Francisco is a place with a history that evokes complicated emotions." Zhang said, "The oversea Chinese here have always been patriotic, and have made great contributions in promoting cross-Taiwan-strait relationship. Please allow me to extend my sincere thanks to all of you on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office." He also noted that the establishment of the "communication-links mechanism" has provided an effective channel to enhance mutual understanding and mutual trust, jointly promoted the development of the cross-strait relationship.
