Chinese Community in South Bay Area Held Farewell Dinner Party for Consul General Gao Zhansheng

On March 6th, 2013, a grand farewell dinner party for Consul General Gao Zhansheng was held by Chinese Community in South San Francisco Bay Area. About 700 overseas Chinese from all walks of life attended the event. Campbell Mayor Evan low, Milpitas Mayor Jose Estaves, Cupertino Vice Mayor Gilbert Wong, Council member Sue Chan of Fremont, and Council member Kasen Chu of San Jose were also present.

With detailed data and vivid examples, Consul General Gao summarized the remarkable achievements of China's economic and social development, the peaceful development of the cross-Taiwan-Straits relations and steady development of China-U.S. relations during his five year tenure. He also expressed his gratitude to the strong support provided by local Chinese communities and his expectations of their further contribution.

Representatives of local Chinese community spoke highly of Consul General Gao's efforts and contributions in promoting harmony among the communities, as well as deepening exchanges and cooperation between US and China. The elected officials from the Bay Area presented proclamations to Consul General Gao for his contributions to friendly cooperation between the two countries.
