May 11th and 13th, 2019, Deputy Consul General of China Ren Faqiang was invited to attend Transcontinental Railroad 150th Anniversary Gala, The Silent Spikes sculpture donation ceremony, the opening ceremony of the large railway workers mural and Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Celebration Luncheon in Sacramento. He met with California Governor Gavin Newsom, U.S. Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, State Controller Betty Yee, State Senator Ling Ling Chang, State Assemblymember Phil Ting, David Chiu, Kansen Chu, and Evan Low. They exchanged views on the promotion of sub-national cooperation between China and California.
